"Secretary of State Colin Powell presented strong evidence to the United Nations today that indicates Saddam Hussein is deliberately deceiving UN Weapons Inspectors. The evidence is mounting that Saddam has no intention of disarming and Secretary Powell made that clear today. Not taking appropriate action to remove Saddam from power may be more dangerous to our security than the actual mission of removing him by force. The policy of containment does not satisfy the objective of long-term security for the United States and it's allies. The time to take action in Iraq is approaching because if we ignore this threat, we could pay a far greater price in the end. As a federal lawmaker, I fully support our national security team and we may ultimately not have any choice but to forcibly remove Saddam Hussein from power"
