Not only did the events of September 11th shatter the lives of those who lost family members, the attacks threatened the jobs of thousands of American workers. We must prevent further job loss by doing everything we can to get our economy back on track.

President Bush recently pointed out "Part of the war we fight is to make sure our economy continues to grow." I certainly agree. In the wake of the September 11th attack on our nation, America's economy needs a shot in the arm, and I am hopeful that various measures Congress is working on will help turn things around.

I wish the best for each American worker, and their families, who lost their job and are searching for gainful employment. All of you are in my thoughts and prayers.
