As the father of two teenagers, it is heartbreaking for me to imagine the thousands of children who are abused and neglected in this country.  We must protect the most vulnerable in our society.

This is why I am an original cosponsor of H.R. 4472, the Child Safety Act.  This bill will strengthen the registration requirements for convicted child predators, as well as expand community notification.  It will also increase penalties should a convicted child predator try to evade a state’s registration requirements.  When it came before the House of Representatives for a vote, this bill was passed with my strong support.
