Quality Family Programming Will Stay in Chattanooga
October 24, 2002
Children are regularly exposed to corrupting influences on television, in video games, and on the Internet. As parents and guardians, we must stay involved in the lives of young ones. As citizens, we must continue to be positive role models. Too many American children feel alone in the world and are left to sift through the gratuitous sex and violence that has, sadly, made its way into our homes through our television and computers.
I am pleased to report that DirecTV recently announced it would continue to carry the PAX Channel in the Chattanooga area. I applaud this decision to ensure that quality family programming will be available to our area.
I am determined to continue the fight on behalf of children and parents. While we are limited as to what we can do by the First Amendment, we must do everything we can to curb these corrupting influences in our society.
