Making sure that our state is fully equipped to handle children with disabilities is so important. The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) is the largest federal mandate on states. Congress must keep its commitment to share with state and local governments in the expense of educating children with disabilities.

As reauthorization for IDEA comes up, I certainly will consider language about "chronically disruptive" children. We have a duty to provide a quality education to all children, which includes training teachers to meet the needs of children with such disabilities such as Tourettes Syndrome.
