Wamp Says Bush, Congress Must Represent United Front

October 8, 2002

"President George W. Bush and the U.S. Congress must represent a united front in fighting the evil tyranny of Saddam Hussein. The risks associated with inaction exceed the risks of this preemptive action. Sometimes it takes military force to bring about peace and long term stability. Unfortunately our choices are not good. However, like President Bush, I believe we should pursue peace by addressing the real threat instead of ignoring the situation."

"This week I will vote in favor of the resolution authorizing the President to use U.S. armed forces to defend the national security interests of the United States. The U.S. Congress needs to put partisanship aside and speak with one voice to support President Bush and to defend freedom."
