The cost of cable television continues to rise.  As a father of two, I am concerned with some of the programming that enters my house as part of my 'basic' cable package.  Americans deserve control over which channels enter their homes and should not have to pay for the channels they don't want.

Unfortunately implementing an 'a la carte' cable package would be very costly.  The biggest challenge for Congress in dealing with this issue is how to write legislation that will bring 'a la carte' cable at a lower cost to the consumer than the cost of 'basic' cable.  As this quickly changing technology continues to evolve, I will follow the developments and work to bring cheaper, more flexible cable options to consumers.
