Washington, D.C. - U.S. Rep. Tim Johnson (IL-15) is gathering congressional support for establishing a centralized patient accounting office in Danville for the Veteran’s Administration. The federal agency has several health care facilities in the Midwest, including the Illiana Health Care System in Danville, and it is planning to combine each individual facility’s patient accounts office into one facility for the entire region.
“This is an opportunity for Danville to gain 250 new, federal jobs,” explained Johnson. “Community leaders from all over Vermilion County have banded together to market Danville as the preferred location for the VA’s new patient accounting office. The City has more than adequate space, an experienced workforce and bountiful amenities. In my opinion, Danville is an outstanding location for the new federal facility and I will do everything in my power to make this a reality.”
Rep. Johnson has been working with his fellow Members of Congress from Illinois in order to create a unified message that Danville should be chosen for the new facility. He intends to bring this message to the Department of Veteran’s Affairs in Washington, DC for consideration. Meantime, he is collaborating with community leaders from Danville, Vermilion Advantage, Illiana Health Care and others in Vermilion County to best market the city.
