REPRESENTATIVE JOHNSON HONORED BY SMALL BUSINESS GROUP

Washington, D.C. -  Representative Timothy Johnson (R-IL-15) today was named a “Guardian of  Small Business” for his outstanding voting record on behalf of America’s small business owners.

The award comes from the National Federation of Independent Business, the nation’s leading small business advocacy association.

NFIB President and CEO Todd Stottlemyer praised Rep. Johnson for standing for small business. “Small business owners pay close attention to how their lawmakers vote on the issues affecting their businesses and employees and stand by those who stand for them.

“The record shows that Rep. Johnson is a true champion of small business, having stood strong on the key small business votes in the 109th Congress,” Stottlemyer said. Those votes involves issues ranging from tax relief to affordable health care to liability reform to regulatory reform.

Rep. Johnson said he was gratified by the recognition.

“I’m honored and humbled by this award. More importantly, I’m happy to do the work that will benefit the business climate, the small businesses, and in turn their employees, who are the engine of our economy,” Rep. Johnson said.

The award from the NFIB comes on the heels of an announcement honoring Rep. Johnson by another business group earlier today. Rep. Johnson was awarded the National Association of Manufacturers Award for Manufacturing Legislative Excellence in recognition of his support for American manufacturers and a pro-growth, pro-job agenda.
