Tiahrt to Host Workshop to Further Community Development
Grants Workshop to provide information on funding opportunities

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Representative Todd Tiahrt (R-Goddard) will host a Grants Workshop on Tuesday, August 29, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., at the Cargill Learning Center at the Sedgwick County Zoo. The workshop will feature representatives from federal and state agencies as well as foundations who will provide information on funding opportunities and helpful hints.

“I am pleased that my office has had the opportunity to host this workshop as I personally feel it is important to facilitate our community leaders regarding the grants process,” said Tiahrt. “This workshop is a chance to provide information on funding opportunities to community-based, faith-based, as well as non-profit and for-profit entities.”

Over 250 registered individuals will listen to an exceptional group of speakers and participate in various break-out sessions. Attendees will acquire helpful hints on searching for grants, learn application tips, and have the opportunity to participate in a question and answer period with local grant providers.

“It is important to remember that we are all trying to improve the quality of life in and around Kansas’ 4th Congressional District, said Tiahrt. “Together, we can make real strides in improving the lives of our friends and neighbors as well as continuing to improve our communities for future generations.”
