Tiahrt to Host Medicare Prescription Drug Plan Workshop

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Representative Todd Tiahrt (R-Goddard) will be hosting a Medicare Prescription Drug Information Workshop, Friday, April 21, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., at the Sedgwick County Extension Center, 7001 West 21st Street, North, in Wichita. The Workshop is for those seniors who are eligible for the new Medicare Prescription Drug Plan and still have questions about the options available to them. The initial enrollment deadline is May 15, 2006.

“With the enrollment deadline fast approaching, I want area seniors to have another opportunity to ask questions and gather information about a plan that will fit their specific needs,” said Tiahrt. “I am pleased with the anticipated level of participation at the workshop by local agencies and plan providers.”

Representatives from area agencies and Medicare Drug Plan providers will be on hand to discuss options for inquiring seniors. Attendees are urged to bring a list of their current prescription drugs and their Medicare claim number. There is no obligation to enroll in the voluntary program, but seniors will have that option available to them at the workshop.
