New Neighborhoods Wins $172,229
Multifamily Housing Service Coordinator Award
Washington, D.C. -- New Neighborhoods, Inc., in Stamford
will receive a $172,229 grant from the U.S. Department of
Housing and Urban Development (HUD), Congressman Christopher
Shays (R-CT) announced today.
Funding will be used for a Resident Services Coordinator for
Martin Luther King, Jr. Apartments, an 88-unit residential
building owned and managed by New Neighborhoods, Inc.
The Service Coordinator will help provide supportive
services for frail and at-risk residents, particularly the
elderly that live in the development.
“It's important that those who are sick, elderly, or
have limited resources are not forgotten," said Shays.
"I am pleased that New Neighborhoods has found partnership
with the federal government to better provide services for
its most vulnerable citizens."
New Neighborhoods, Inc. is a non-profit bricks & mortar
housing developer dedicated to building and preserving rental
and ownership housing in Stamford for the broad mix of
residents -- including growing families, graduates entering
the workforce, and retirees -- who make the city and Southwestern
Connecticut a vital place to live and work.
