Saxton Comments on Death of Burlco Surrogate Elton Conda

Conda was a war hero, public servant, & political icon

BAGHDAD, IRAQ - Congressman Jim Saxton (NJ-3rd) released the following statement from Iraq on the death of Burlington County Surrogate Elton Conda.

"Elton is a longtime community leader and has been my friend for more than 30 years," said Congressman Saxton from the Middle East where he is visiting with U.S. troops. "He loved his country and was a great American. In war time and in peace time, he dedicated his life to serving others. Ill miss him terribly and I extend my sympathies to his family."

Saxton, a resident of Burlington County, has represented a large portion of the county in Congress since 1984. Previous to going to Washington, Mr. Saxton was a State Senator and State Assemblymen representing large parts of Burlington County.

"I’ve worked with Elton many times over the years," Saxton said. "In terms of service to country during World War II, he was a hero. In the realm of public service, he was a tireless servant. In the arena of politics he was a icon."
