Pryce: Republican Tax Relief Boosts Tax Revenue, Shrinks the Deficit

WASHINGTON , DC – Congresswoman Deborah Pryce (R-Columbus) today hailed the Office of Management and Budget’s announcement that the deficit will be approximately $127 billion less than projected just six months ago.

“Today’s announcement is further evidence that Republican economic policies are working,” Pryce said. “Over the past few years, Republicans have passed broad tax relief to help families, spur our economy, and allow American taxpayers to keep more of their hard-earned money. Today we see the results of those policies – double-digit revenue growth to the federal government and a deficit projection $127 billion lower than expected.

“Our opponents repeatedly argued that tax relief would deprive the federal government of essential funds and drive up the deficit – but as we can see today, tax relief has had the opposite effect, significantly boosting tax revenue and shrinking the deficit. We will continue working to extend these policies to ensure that this vigorous economic growth continues.”
