OWENS DELIVERS SCHOLARSHIP DOLLARS
TO BROOKLYN COLLEGE STUDENTS

Washington, D.C. - August 16, 2004 -  Congressman Major R. Owens officially announced the awarding of $15,000.00 in scholarships to Brooklyn students for 2004-2005 Academic Year. These scholarships are sponsored by the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation, Inc. (CBCF) and  the Congressional Black Caucus Spouses Education Scholarship Fund Program.

According to Owens, I will continue to work feverishly to provide the necessary resources and educational opportunities for students in my district.”

The mission of the CBCF is to assist the leaders of today while helping to prepare a new generation of leaders for the future.  Since 1988, Congressman Owens has provided $272,000 in college scholarships to students in his district.
