OLVER SPEECH ON CLIMATE CHANGE
WASHINGTON, D.C. ‚ Congressman John W. Olver (D-1st District) delivered the following speech about climate change at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst today and at Mount Wachusett Community College, Gardner, on April 10:
I believe climate change with all its varied impacts will prove to be the great environmental challenge of this century. Thousands of scientists all over the world contributed to the body of climate science built up over the last half century. The body of climate science has produced tens of thousands of research papers. These papers have been peer reviewed, published in scientific journals, open for debate, replication, reinterpretation, and fostered much more research. Read More.

WASHINGTON, D.C. ‚ In the 109th Congress, Congressman John W. Olver (D-MA) reintroduced House legislation to fight global warming. The Climate Stewardship Act would set a cap for heat-trapping pollution responsible for global warming, while creating a market-based system encouraging maximum technological innovation and profitable opportunities for companies to cut emissions.
