Nancy's Student Center

Welcome to Nancy's Student Center -- created especially for the youth of Connecticut's 5th District.

Throughout the year, classes in 5th District schools
host and contribute to the Student Center.

Nancy is pleased to welcome the 5th graders in Ms. Cindy Maranzano’s  class (pictured above) as the current hosts.  They attend Vance Village School in New Britain.

The students are participating in a “MicroSociety,” a life-skills curriculum that simulates business, service, and government ventures while encouraging students to become active in their communities.  Taking a hands-on approach to learning more about the function and history of the U.S. government, these 5th graders developed their very own Constitution and Bill of Rights for the MicroSociety.

The students have generously contributed to the Student Center their projects comparing the U.S. and Vance Village School constitutions.  You can see samples of their projects by clicking on the below links:

Teachers interested in having their class host the student page in the future should email Nancy and include their daytime contact information.

For even more information, please visit the student pages at The White House and the U.S. House of Representatives.
