Nadler Joins Planned Parenthood NYC to Announce March
for Women's Lives Train to Washington

New York -- Representative Jerrold Nadler (D-NY) today joined leaders of Planned Parenthood NYC in his Congressional District to announce Planned Parenthood's initiative to host the March for Women's Lives Train for Choice to Washington, DC on April 25.

Nadler, who was named Grand Marshal of the Planned Parenthood NYC Train for Choice, stated, "The March for Women's Lives is expected to be one of the largest public demonstrations in support of women's reproductive freedom in history. It is critical that as many people as possible turn out for this event to show their support for a woman's right to choose."

Nadler, one of the staunchest advocates in Congress for the protection of women's reproductive rights, recently introduced the Freedom of Choice Act, which would, for the first time, codify the rights guaranteed under the Constitution by Roe v. Wade. The legislation would bar government - at any level - from interfering with a woman’s fundamental right to choose to bear a child, or to terminate a pregnancy.

"I am proud to continue to defend a woman's right to choose and look forward to participating in the March for Women's Lives," said Nadler. "The Bush Administration has made it clear that it will do all it can to take away women's reproductive rights, and we must make every effort to stop the Administration. I urge anyone who wants to protect a woman's fundamental right to choose to join me at the March."
