Bowman Park
Bowman Park, on Corwin Avenue in Waynesville, Ohio came
into existence as part of an agreement and development plan
between the Village of Waynesville and Woodie Bowman, developer
of a restaurant and entertainment complex on U.S. 42 in
Waynesville. Mr. Bowman donated 25 acres of land along the
Little Miami River to the Warren County Park District, as
a part of the agreement and development plan for the Der
Duetchler Restaurant, gift shops and entertainment center.
The Warren County Park District, with assistance from public
meetings, engineering and design consultation, designed
and developed the raw land into Bowman Park. As the Warren
County Park District developed this land for playfied and
park development, more land was made available by Mr. Bowman.
When fully developed, the Bowman park complex is expected
to be 45 acres or more. All of the land is located within
the 100 year flood plain elevation, adjacent to the Little
Miami River. Therefore it is not suitable for commercial
or residential uses, but excellent for park use.
