LaTourette secures $500,000 in federal funding
for Concord Township water project

(Washington, DC)  --  U.S. Rep. Steven C. LaTourette (R-Concord Township) today announced that he has secured an additional $500,000 in federal funding for a sanitary sewer project in Concord Township.  LaTourette previously secured $500,000 for the project in the FY 2005 omnibus spending bill.

LaTourette said the funds will be used for a sanitary sewer improvement project at the intersection of Ravenna and Concord-Hambden roads.

“Without federal assistance, a relatively small number of homeowners and businesses would have assumed 60 percent of the project’s $1.27 million price tag,” LaTourette said.  “I am very pleased that the burden on Concord residents and businesses will be lessened.”

LaTourette said the additional funding is included in H.R. 1268, an emergency spending bill already approved by the Senate by a vote of 99-0.  The House is expected to approve the measure later today.

LaTourette said he is pleased that he was able to secure the additional $500,000.
