CONGRESSMAN FATTAH MOURNS THE LOSS OF LONGTIME FRIEND, LAWYER AND ACTIVIST

Congressman Chaka Fattah (D-PA), releases the following statement on the death of

Obra Kernodle III.

“The City of Philadelphia has suffered a tremendous loss in the death of Obra Kernodle; a renowned attorney, community leader and political activist.

“Obra’s legacy has many aspects but one of the most enduring will be his goal to politically empower Philadelphia’s African American community.  An objective he pursued with earnest deliberation.

“A longtime friend and supporter, Obra and I enjoyed a mutual respect for each other. His sound advice, dedication to public service and sense of humor were just some of his endearing qualities.

“I want to express my deepest sympathy to his family and pray that God’s peace will be with you through this difficult time. Obra was a remarkable man; he made a difference in the lives of many people and will be remembered as a man of character and distinction.”
