Emanuel Statement on Record Budget Deficit

CHICAGO, IL—Congressman Rahm Emanuel (D-IL) issued the following statement on the Office of Management and Budget's Mid-Session Review. 

"Following a record $445 billion annual deficit and $3 trillion in additional national debt, only this Administration would hang the banner “mission accomplished” over this economy. And while the deficit grows, middle class families are facing stagnant incomes, ever increasing costs for health care and education, and new concerns about their retirement security.  The Bush Administration should put the “mission accomplished” banner back where they found it."
