WASHINGTON, D.C.—On the eve of Tax Day, U.S. Representative Rahm Emanuel (D-IL), will highlight the success stories from his free clinics for college financial aid and tax preparation services for residents of the 5th Congressional District on Saturday, April 1st at 10:30am.  Over the last three years, with volunteers from the Tax Assistance Program – It Adds Up® (TAP), Emanuel has provided hundreds of constituents with help filling out their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) forms and tax returns.  Between January 28 and March 25, 2006 Emanuel and TAP have returned $200,972.00 in tax refunds to 186 Chicago residents, 72 of whom received  $78,929.00 in Earned Income Tax Credits.
