Update on Mail, Situation on Capitol Hill

Dear Friends,  As the Capitol Police continue to investigate the presence of ricin in the Senate Office Complex, mail services have been stopped indefinitely.  As of today, no ricin contamination has been identified on the House side of the Capitol Hill campus.  As a precaution Capitol Police are directing all offices to avoid handling any mail.  It is anticipated some mail will be destroyed or held for further testing.  The Capitol Police are completing work on a mail collection plan.  At this time, we do not know when mail service will resume.

If the issue you are contacting me about is time sensitive, I recommend you e-mail, fax, or call to ensure you will receive a timely response.  You can contact my Chicago office at 773-267-5926 or fax to 773-267-6583.  To contact my Washington D.C. office call 202-225-4061 or fax to 202-225-5603.  Thank you.
