Turkey-based Airmen Saving Troops' Lives in Iraq
INCIRLIK AIR BASE, Turkey, Nov. 14, 2006 — Hundreds of miles away from the war zone, the efforts of airmen here are helping keep Iraq-based troops off dangerous convoy routes that are plagued with roadside bombs and sniper attacks. Story
Iraqi Mayor Writes New Chapter of Success
TAL AFAR, Iraq, Nov. 14, 2006 — The story goes that on Oct. 9 an Iraqi police patrolman noticed a suspicious vehicle driving toward his patrol base in Tal Afar. When attempts to stop the vehicle failed, he shot the driver. The driver was able to detonate a bomb that killed the patrolman and injured two other patrolmen. Story
Operating Base Units Receive Combat Patch
TIKRIT, Iraq, Nov. 14, 2006 — Members of the 25th Infantry Division Headquarters at Contingency Operating Base Speicher, participated in a combat patch ceremony Nov. 11. The ceremony recognized those personnel for being deployed to a combat zone in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Story
