Brothers,
I trust this
message finds you in good health and good spirits. Allow me
to be brief and to the point, the purpose of my message is
to alert you to the most recent elements of the
International Headquarters (IHQ) Efficiency Initiative – the
Lock Box Program (for submitting funds) and the Track-It
System (to post inquiries and to request assistance from
IHQ staff).
Brothers, the
development of these two programs was initiated under the
prior Fraternity administration. As evidence of the smooth
transition from that to the current administration, we have
further developed and refined these two superb programs and
have made them available for your use – even as we continue
to expand their capability.
During my campaign
for the GKRS Office, one of the constant themes I heard
across the country and around the world was a desire from
the Membership to improve the efficiency of our
international headquarters. I always responded with my
commitment to accomplish that but, also, with an alert that
a major component in my improvement plan was a change in the
in the nature of the interface between the Membership
(Brothers, Chapters and Districts) and our headquarters
personnel and processes.
Consider this,
many of you are old enough to remember when a trip to the
bank to deposit or withdraw money or make a payment on a
loan, was an ordeal….a slow and painful process. Now, most
of us do our banking without ever actually visiting the
bank…..ATM’s, electronic fund transfers, credit cards, etc,
have totally changed our interface with the banking
system….banks changed…and we changed to take advantage of
the improvements.
The same must take
place for Omega Psi Phi Fraternity and its Membership to
take advantage of these improvements in our operations.
Brothers, what we offer you now is a way to improve the
Fraternity’s operating efficiency and, at the same time, to
improve your satisfaction with our IHQ operations.
We are still
equipped to handle transactions in the former hard-copy,
paper intensive ways from the past…..but like any vintage
vehicle, those processes move slowly and must give way for
those who choose to move forward at today’s speed…using
today’s processes. Brothers, help me to help you…when you’re
ready….we’re ready.
Please read the
two documents linked to this message:
These are the portals to
the new era of efficiency in our operations.
As always I remain…..yours
in Omega,
Bro. Charles A. Bruce
Grand Keeper of Records and Seal

The following is an
example of an idea come to life, and as reflected in the
Fraternity’s theme of "Economic Empowerment Leading to
Social and Political Change".
Dr. Lester Spence provides the
following commentary as recently heard on National
Public Radio’s (NPR) “News & Notes with Ed Gordon”:
“A
recent report states fewer than half of African-American males
earn high school diplomas within four years. A national black
college fraternity is working to turn this alarming trend
around, and commentator Lester Spence commends Omega Psi Phi
for its efforts. Spence is an assistant professor of political
science at Johns Hopkins University” Ed
