Protecting Retirement in America

All Americans deserve to retire with the confidence that they will be financially secure and have access to high quality health care. Democrats have worked hard to make that possible by creating Social Security and Medicare for seniors and fair pensions and health care for Veterans. But the current Administration has put these benefits at risk by funding irresponsible tax breaks for those who need them least. Instead of providing fair retirement benefits, they have turned their backs on America's seniors and veterans. Democrats want to put seniors and veterans first by providing the meaningful benefits and health care they need and deserve.

Many Americans are worried about retirement security, and whether the combination of Social Security, their 401(k) plan or pension, and their savings will be enough. And now, Republicans want to privatize Social Security, saying the program is no longer sustainable. This risky proposal threatens the only secure retirement income for millions of Americans.
