United States Department of Justice Awards Funding to
Territory Agency

(St. Thomas, V.I., July 10, 2006) — Delegate to Congress Donna M. Christensen is pleased to announce that the United States Department of Justice has awarded the Virgin Islands Law Enforcement Commission with a $103,185.00 grant.

This grant will be used for the Juvenile Accountability Block Grant Program (JABG). The JABG program goal is to reduce juvenile offending through accountability-based programs focused on both the juvenile offender and the juvenile justice system. The object if this program is to ensure that States are addressing the specified program purpose areas and receiving information on best practices from the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention.
