Virgin Islands Advocacy Incorporated Receives Grant

(St. Thomas, Virgin Islands, June 15, 2006) — Delegate to Congress Donna Christensen is pleased to announce that the Virgin Islands Advocacy Incorporated has a grant from the United States Department of Health and Human Services.

The amount of this grant is $20,000 for use in the Traumatic Brain Injury Protection and Advocacy project. This project was established in many states for the purpose of enabling such systems to provide services to individuals with traumatic brain injury.  This funding may be use to plan for, develop outreach strategies for and carry out services for individuals with traumatic brain injury.

These funds must supplement, not supplant, nonfederal funds available in the State in which the protection and advocacy system is established.
