(Washington, DC, July 26, 2005) — Delegate to Congress Donna M. Christensen is pleased to announce the United States Department of Health and Human Services has awarded the Virgin Islands Department of Human Services $75,000.

This funding will be used for the Senior Medicare Patrol Project. The objectives of this project will be to support the development and testing of innovative programs, services and systems of support that respond to the needs of the nations growing elderly population, to improve knowledge of the problems and needs of the elderly, to help ensure adequately trained personnel in the field of aging, and to demonstrate better ways of improving the quality of life for the elderly.
