(Washington, DC, January 28, 2005)—Delegate to Congress Donna Christensen congratulated newly-sworn District Court Judge Curtis Gomez on his investiture on Friday morning.

“We are all honored when one of our own is elevated to such a position as this,” said Christensen at the ceremony.  Christensen said that the true measure of Gomez’s service will be his stewardship of the law and the Constitution, reminding him that cases before him will be sensitive, controversial and demanding.

“I understand well, the weight of the responsibility that has been placed upon your shoulders, but you are well prepared, of model temperament and fully capable,” said Christensen.  She wished the territory’s newest judge “God’s richest blessings in the work and the challenges that lay ahead.”
