(St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands – August 29, 2003) – Delegate to Congress Donna M. Christensen returns to the Territory today after a week of travel on a Congressional delegation to Zambia and Ethiopia at the end of the Congressional recess period. Christensen travelled with fellow Congresswomen Barbara Lee of California and Sheila Jackson Lee of Texas to explore how food security issues impact health, education, economic development and politics. As a member of the House Small Business Committee’s Subcommittee on Rural Enterprises, Agriculture and Technology, Christensen and the rest of the delegation explored how Congress could assist the two countries by the reinvestment and development of the agriculture sector. |
