General Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must meet the five following requirements to apply for a scholarship through the Hispanic Scholarship Fund. You can only apply if you meet ALL five general eligibility requirements.
- Be of Hispanic Heritage: persons descended from Mexican, Puerto Rican, Cuban, Dominican, Central American (excluding Belize), South American (excluding Guyana, Suriname and French Guiana), or other Spanish cultures
- Be a US citizen OR legal permanent resident with a valid permanent resident card or passport stamped I-551
- Have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale (or the equivalent)
- Be pursuing or plan to pursue your first undergraduate or graduate degree
- Must apply for federal financial aid using the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
Additional restrictions or requirements may apply to specific HSF-administered scholarship programs. Please carefully check the specific guidelines for each program to which you plan to apply.
