	CONGRESSMAN DAVIS ANNOUNCES $665,000 GRANT FOR THE UNIVERSITY OF ALABAMA

	WASHINGTON -- U.S. Representative Artur Davis (D-Birmingham) is pleased to announce that the University of Alabama’s University Transportation Center for Alabama has been awarded $665,000 from the Department of Transportation’s Research and Innovative Technology Administration. The funding will support the University Transportation Center’s efforts to research the latest technologies in order to improve the management and safety of transportation systems. “This funding will assist in directing how development across the state will be structured for the next generation,” said Rep. Davis. “Cleaner, more efficient, urban areas along with more connected and developed rural areas should be the future that we work to build for our children with this funding.”
