Birmingham – U.S. Representative Artur Davis (D-Birmingham) obtained $300,000 for the City of Midfield to support its downtown beautification efforts. The funding is part of the $9 million in appropriations secured by Davis in this year’s Omnibus spending bill passed November 20.
“One of our primary tasks as representatives in Washington is to secure resources for communities across the district to assist their efforts in realizing their full potential,” Davis said. “I am pleased the City of Midfield continues to improve the way of life for its residents, as well as enhance its attractiveness to recruit more businesses to the area.”
The appropriation will support the City of Midfield’s rehabilitation of sidewalks and streetscapes after their recent renovation of their water, sewer and utility lines.
