Washington, DC -- {Congressman Neil Abercrombie issued the following statement on the deaths of Pearl Harbor-based Navy SEALs in the downing of their helicopter in Afghanistan: “I was deeply saddened to learn of the deaths of SEALs from Pearl Harbor in Afghanistan. “These were our Hawaii friends and neighbors, and we all feel this tragic loss. “Our entire community joins in extending our heartfelt sympathy to their families, friends and fellow service members. “They were among America’s finest. We honor them for their courage, patriotism and devotion to duty. “Their sacrifice is a reminder to the nation of the heavy responsibility we bear when we send our young men and women to war.” -30- |
