US House resolution congratulates West Oahu Little Leaguers

Washington, DC -- The U.S. House of Representatives today passed a resolution congratulating the West Oahu Little League team for winning the 2005 Little League World Series.

The measure, House Resolution 429, was introduced by Congressman Neil Abercrombie and cosponsored by Congressman Ed Case.

Considered under an expedited floor procedure known as “suspension of the rules”, the resolution passed unanimously.

Speaking in favor of the measure were Abercrombie, Case, and Reps. Gil Gutknecht (R-MN) and Carolyn Maloney (D-NY).

Abercrombie said, “In their quest for the championship, the West Oahu Little League team demonstrated the highest level of commitment, self-discipline and sportsmanship.  Their achievement generated enormous pride in their home town of Ewa Beach, throughout the State of Hawaii and across our nation.”
