(WASHINGTON, DC) - U.S. Rep. Collin Peterson announced that Stony Run Township in Yellow Medicine County will receive $100,000 towards the repair of roads as part of a transportation appropriations package that passed the U.S. House of Representatives.
“Stony Run Township officials have been covering the cost of rebuilding this road each time it washes out, and I’m pleased to have helped with securing funds to make a permanent upgrade,” Peterson said.
Heavy rains over the past eight years have contributed to the wash outs of Stony Run Township Road, and township officials have worked with the NRCS to engineer a permanent upgrade plan that will withstand natural disasters.
