“SPIRIT OF ENTERPRISE” AWARDED TO PETERSON BY U.S. CHAMBER

(WASHINGTON, DC) - The U.S. Chamber of Commerce on Thursday awarded Congressman Collin C. Peterson (D-7th District) the “Spirit of Enterprise” award for his support of pro-business issues.

Thomas J. Donahue, U.S. Chamber President and CEO said, “Collin Peterson is a leader who has voted time and again to create jobs, improve our domestic security, and promote economic expansion.”

Peterson earned a 76 percent score with the Chamber last year, and has compiled a 62 percent cumulative ranking during his tenure in Congress.

"I'm honored to be recognized by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, and I appreciate all of the advice and input that Chamber members in the 7th District have given me throughout my career," Peterson said.

For the second session of the 108th Congress, the Chamber scored 17 Senate votes and 21 House votes as key votes. Members of Congress who support the Chamber’s position on at least 70 percent of “key votes” receive the “Spirit of Enterprise” award.

“The businesses in my district are vital to economic growth and prosperity, now and into the future,” Peterson said. “Congress should work to eliminate unnecessary regulation and red tape, and "sunset" rules which no longer serve any rational purpose.”
