Lac Qui Parle Lake Association included in federal appropriations bill

(WASHINGTON, DC) - U.S. Rep. Collin Peterson announced that the Lac Qui Parle Lake Association will receive $450,000 towards a shore angling improvement project as part of a transportation appropriations package that passed the U.S. House of Representatives.

“This is a great project for area residents and tourists in Montevideo,” Peterson said. “Community leaders have been working with the Minnesota DNR to make this spot a safe recreational area, and I’m pleased to have helped secure funding to bring this closer to reality.”

The project is located at Twin Bridges, a site where many fish off a bridge that is becoming a safety hazard. The project will include a parking area and ADA compliant sidewalks and fishing platforms. This will improve roadway safety and add a scenic stopping point for tourists.
