Statement from Congressman Collin Peterson:

I want to extend my deepest sympathy to the family of Sergeant Joshua R. Hanson, of Dent, Minnesota who was killed in Iraq when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle. Sergeant Hanson died while proudly serving his country and now his family deserves our respect, our support and our prayers.

We should also extend our sympathies and support to the families of the other injured soldiers from Minnesota. I pray for a speedy recovery for all of them and I hope that they will be returning home soon.

The Minnesota National Guard's 136th Infantry continues to make an important contribution to the ongoing mission in Iraq and at times like these it is especially important that we let their families know that we appreciate their service and their dedication.
