Job Summary

The Office of House information Resources, Network Engineering and Configuration Branch, Chief Administrative Office, is seeking a qualified HPOV and UNIX (Solaris, HP-UX, Red Hat Linux) systems administrator.  Successful candidate should have extensive experience with network management concepts and tools/utilities, UNIX system administration, and Windows system administration.  Experience with UNIX shell scripting, PERL, Apache, SQL ( MySQL, MS -SQL, etc.), MRTG and RTG configuration and support preferred.  Knowledge of local and wide area network technologies required; hands-on experience with configuration, installation, maintenance of networking components such as routers, switches, access servers required; experience with network management troubleshooting and monitoring tools and network and routing protocols (EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, TCP/IP, IEEE 802.x Ethernet, IPSec) required; experience with Cisco hardware, Cisco IOS and Catalyst OS preferred. 

Requirements:

Duties include day to day administration of UNIX and Windows platforms including support for network management applications.  Other duties may include configuration and support for network switches and routers.  Successful candidate must be available to provide 24x7 support as required.

Candidate should possess demonstrated hands-on experience with systems administration within large and geographically diverse environments. Ability to work under pressure and within budget and time constraints is a must. Must have a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience and at least three years experience with UNIX and Windows system administration.
