Job Summary

The Office of House Information Resources, Information Management Directorate, Chief Administrative Office, is seeking a Web Systems Branch Manager. Candidate is responsible for leading and managing the internet/intranet services provided to Members, Committees, and House support offices.  Candidate manages the public and internal House web sites, and is responsible for the development and maintenance of Members, Committees and House support offices web sites. Candidate also provides technical support services to Member staff responsible for maintaining web sites and oversees web engineering and web systems integration support for web-based solutions to support operational activities of the House. Candidate leads the technical planning, development and deployment of web technologies; coordinates the work of the design and development team to implement web tools and utilities for House web sites and provides leadership and direction to assigned staff.  Candidate is also responsible for the planning and managing of both long and short-range budget activities.  This position has managerial/supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements:

Candidate should possess a Bachelor's degree or equivalent senior level technical experience.  Demonstrated experience in a wide range of technical areas, an understanding of management principles and objectives and knowledge of all aspects of information systems. Knowledge of management theory and generally accepted personnel practices is desirable.  Demonstrated ability to identify and define objectives and establish practice project milestones and provide technical and managerial leadership of others in the various system generation activities. Demonstrated experience with project management. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with elected officials, senior staff, information systems professionals and non-technical users.  Ability to work additional hours as required.  Must be able to secure and maintain Federal Government security clearances as deemed appropriate by senior management.
