WALSH RECEIVES AWARD FOR CONTINUED SUPPORT
OF AGRICULTURE

(Syracuse, New York)- The American Farm Bureau Federation announced Tuesday that Congressman Jim Walsh has been selected as a "Friend of the Farm Bureau" for the 109th Congress. Congressman Walsh was chosen for this award based on his support of priority Farm Bureau issues as shown by his voting record and accessibility and responsiveness to Farm Bureau members and leaders.

"Its an honor to be recognized by the American Farm Bureau," said Walsh. "Agriculture is a vital industry in Upstate New York, and I will continue to support it in any way that I can."

"Congressman Walsh has been a tireless advocate for agriculture during his tenure in Congress," said Mark James, Executive Director of the Finger Lakes Office of the New York Farm Bureau. "He has been accessible to his farmer constituents and has listened to their concerns.  The fact that he has received this award is testament to commitment to the agricultural community’s well being."

Walsh was nominated by New York's Farm Bureau, and was approved by the Board of Directors of the American Farm Bureau Federation to receive this award. Walsh has received the "Friend of the Farm Bureau" award consistently over the last decade.
