STATEMENT BY CONGRESSMAN JAMES T. WALSH ON THE
FIFTH ANNIVERSARY OF SEPTEMBER 11th

(Syracuse, New York)- “We step aside today as a nation to honor and recognize those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001, and all those who love them.

“We recognize the rescue and recovery workers who selflessly responded in the days that followed.

“We honor all members of our Armed Services and the public safety community who sacrifice to ensure that the day’s events are never repeated.

“And we celebrate the indomitable spirit that makes America the greatest, the freest, and the most generous nation in the world.

“I pray that the lessons of September 11th will never be overlooked, the fallen will never be forgotten, and the unity and concern for each other that we shared and communicated in the days that followed will continue to grow and define us as a people.”
