(Syracuse, New York)- Congressman Jim Walsh will host a meeting on Friday, August 25th to discuss new federal Transportation Safety Administration (TSA) regulations for airline travelers.
Joining Walsh will be Congressman John Mica, Chair of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Subcommittee on Aviation; Gary Milano, head of TSA Syracuse; and Anthony Mancuso, Syracuse Airport Commissioner. After the meeting, officials will hold a media availability at 4:30 p.m. at the South Baggage Claim in the Main Terminal at Hancock International Airport.
The changes include both visible and non-visible security measures, including increased aviation screening and the prohibition of certain items included in on board carry-on luggage. These changes came in light of a terrorist plot recently uncovered in London, England involving an attempt to bring explosives onto planes bound for the United States.
