Mike meets with Kyle Dempsey of Pine Bluff on his recent trip to Washington, D.C.  Kyle is a participant in the National Young Leaders Conference (NYLC).  The NYLC is a program for high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors, that gives students a first-hand look at the U.S. government and the responsibility of leadership.

Mike meets with Anna Bradshaw of Crossett, daughter of Sandra and Brad Bradshaw, and Courtney Watson of Crossett, daughter of Robert and Susan Stone.  Anna and Courtney are participants in the Junior National Young Leaders Conference (Jr. NYLC) in Washington, D.C., this summer. The Jr. NYLC is a program that offers sixth and seventh grade students opportunities to learn about leadership and social advocacy.

Mike meets with 4-H students on their recent trip to Washington, D.C., to attend the National Citizen Washington Focus Conference.  They discussed issues relating to Arkansas 4-H programs with Mike. 

 

Mike meets with Nikki Crowe of Fulton and Rosalyn Taylor of Hot Springs on their recent visit to Washington, D.C., with the Presidential Classroom program.  The Presidential Classroom program provides high school juniors and seniors with the opportunity to observe our federal government at work. 

 

 

Mike meets with teachers from the Sheridan School District's East End Elementary School, who recently traveled to Washington, D.C. to receive a Reading Is Fundamental 2006 Program Excellence Award.  East End Elementary is one of only 25 schools in the nation to be selected to receive this award.  Pictured from left to right are Pam Raley, East End's computer laboratory director, Karla Koon, East End's librarian and coordinator of its Reading Is Fundamental program, and Shirley Reed, a paraprofessional and volunteer coordinator for the reading program.

Mike meets with Ryan Pilcher of West Monroe, LA, son of Mark and Shirley Pilcher.  Ryan is a junior at the University of Arkansas at Monticello majoring in business management where he plays football and baseball.  He is currently interning in Washington, D.C. this summer for Congressman Bobby Jindal (LA – 01).
