(Washington, D.C.) U.S. Representative
Mike Ross (AR-4) today announced a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)
grant totaling $667,908 will go to six airports in the 4th District.
“I am pleased that this funding has been awarded to these airports,”
Congressman Ross said. “This money will help provide necessary improvements
to ensure the safest possible environment for airport users and operators.”
The following airports have been included in the grant:
City of Mena
Mena Intermountain Municipal - $66,781
The funds will be used to conduct an airport master plan study.
This study will serve as a guide for future airport development.
City of Warren
Warren Municipal - $58,500
The funds will be used to conduct an airport master plan study.
The project will provide funds to evaluate and prioritize future development
scenarios at the airport.
City of Waldron
Waldron Municipal - $143,550
The funds will be used to conduct an airport master plan study, to
install perimeter fencing, and remove obstructions. The project will
provide funds to identify and prioritize development projects. It
will also provide funds to replace dilapidated fencing to prevent inadvertent
entry to the airport. The project will provide funds to remove trees
near the runway environment to ensure the safety of airport operations.
City of Crossett
Z M Jack Stell Field - $54,000
The funds will be used to conduct an airport master plan study.
The project will provide funds to study and prioritize future development
options for the airport.
City of Sheridan
Sheridan Municipal - $45,077
The funds will be used to conduct an airport master plan study that
will prioritize future development at the airport. The funds will
be used to install miscellaneous NAVAIDS. They will also be used
to rehabilitate runway lighting, including lighting on runway 1/19.
The project will provide funds to rehabilitate and repair the airport rotating
beacon.
City of Pine Bluff
Grider Field - $300,000
The funds will be used to rehabilitate taxiway lighting and rehabilitate
runway. The project will provide funds to rehabilitate and extend
the useful life of the taxiway lighting system to ensure safe night operations
on the airport. The project will provide funds to re-designate the
runway heading on the pavement surface due to recent change in magnetic
declination in vicinity of airport. |
