(Washington, D.C.) U.S. Representative Mike Ross (D-4) today commented
on Pine Bluff receiving $1.5 million from the Department of Commerce’s
Economic Development Administration (EDA) to develop a pavilion along Lake
Pine Bluff to house a farmers market. The overall project also includes
the construction of additional structures, restroom facilities, classroom
facilities, landscaping and access to the lake.
In January, Rep. Ross invited EDA’s Regional Administrator to tour the
project site and view a presentation on the city’s proposal.
“I was very pleased to learn Pine Bluff would be awarded these funds,”
said Ross. “After touring the site with an EDA official, I was hopeful
the city would receive the funds they deserve for this well structured
proposal. This project is the first step toward the revitalization
of downtown Pine Bluff, and I look forward to working with the city during
this continued beautification and economic development project. This
is another example of how I’m keeping my promises to the constituents of
the Fourth Congressional District by being an economic ambassador for Arkansas.” |
