Arkansas Congressional Delegation Announces 
Close to $660,000 in Grants for Rural Fire Protection
 
(Washington, D.C.) U.S. Senators Blanche Lincoln and Mark Pryor, along with U.S. Representatives Vic Snyder (AR-02), John Boozman (AR-03) and Mike Ross (AR-04) announced today that rural fire departments in Arkansas have been awarded $659,612 in grants from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program.
 
This program provides support to fire departments by providing the tools and resources necessary to ensure both the safety of department personnel and the general public.  
 
The following departments have been awarded grants for Fire Operations and Firefighter Safety:
 
2nd Congressional District
• Williams Junction Volunteer Fire Department - Perryville, AR - $32,160
• Jacksonville Fire Department - Jacksonville, AR - $220,749

3rd Congressional District
• Rogers Fire Department - Rogers, AR - $126,657
• District #6 Volunteer Fire Department -  Van Buren, AR - $31,384
• Hatley Fire Department – Dover, AR - $49,050

4th Congressional District
• Mineral Springs Fire Department – Mineral Springs, AR - $102,057
• Parkers Chapel Volunteer Fire Department – El Dorado, AR - $51,229
• Valley Volunteer Fire Department – Wilmar, AR – 46,326
 
These awards are part of the 7th round of grant announcements.
